THE ITALIAN BANKING SYSTEM IN THE EUROZONE AND IN THE EU

NATALI // 31.01.2018

The Conference “ the Italian Banking System in the Eurozone and in the EU: the relationship with the real economy”, held in Rome on January 31st and organized by Fondazione Formiche in partnership with KRUK Italia, was hailed as a great success.
The event, taking place in the prestigious setting of the Biblioteca Angelica in Piazza Sant’Agostino, brought together key opinion leaders of the Italian banking sector – including Antonio Fazio, former Governor of the Bank of Italy, Angelo De Mattia, Director General of the Bank of Italy, Gaetano Micciché, Chief Executive Officer of Banca Imi - Intesa San Paolo, Fabrizio Palenzona, Vice President of Unicredit and Paolo Fiorentino, CEO of Banca Carige, with the aim of analyzing the bank lending behavior in relation to the European banking sector’s trends.
“We are so proud to support this important initiative, which was a great opportunity to meet the most important financial institutions in Italy”, says Alessandro Scorsone, Director of Strategic Transaction of KRUK Italia. “The Conference allowed us to thoroughly analyze trends and dynamics of the Italian banking system and the macroeconomic effects of crisis. It was a great opportunity to discuss and share possible future strategies to increase the level of competitiveness of the country, generating a virtuous circle of growth and enhanced employment.
With regard to the Italian market of credit management, 2017 brought many opportunities for the big players in the industry and 2018 will also be successful for non-performing loans.
“The scenario set out during the Conference leads us to believe that the transfer of non-performing loans from banks will continue in 2018 and our Group is well-prepared to seize any opportunity that may arise and to strengthen its position in the market, aiming at becoming one of the leaders of the industry in Italy”.
Kruk Group opened its headquarters in La Spezia in July 2017, managing in a few months to build a work team with more than 200 employees, a number that will grow.
At the end of the Conference, the Governor Fazio had a meeting with our CEO with whom he shared ideas and problems concerning the challenges that companies have to face for the loss of international competitiveness caused by the increase in labor cost and the lower quality of the services offered.
